Holy $%!+, this kid just blows. Another New Englander, check out
his web
site for more background. Just notice the precision and velocity he
is getting on the picato scales. Amazing to say the least. He's playing
a Connor guitar.
You can see the sound port on the top. This is a concept that a lot of
guitar makers are utilizing these days. This recording seems to have a
loud but nice sound to it so perhaps it works.
Art Devany, a baseball enthusiast and paleo diet researcher has
this interesting blog entry about the Mitchell Report. Some
of his primary points are that there is no evidence for performance enhancement
or hard numbers on who has taken the drugs or what specific dangers are
involved with particular substances. Another question
he raises is one of using steroids or HGH in order to aid with
recovery from injury. This is something I have wondered about as
well. If there are no side effects (or slight side effects can
be managed) and it helps the athlete to stay healthy, then that is
a good thing is it not?
One thing Mitchell mentioned (from what I remember of the press
conference) is the example being displayed to young athletes. Sure
this is a valid concern but that would be all the more reason to
give hard evidence of what specific dangers are involved with
any substances being used. And really, how many of us would like our children
to grow up and adopt the life styles and attitudes of prominent
professional athletes?
