Income Tax?

Simply Mepis, Simply Marvelous
Been using
Mepis a little more over the past week. I have to
say, it's the what Debian ought to be distro. There's a lot
of things that just work right out of the box without fiddling.
Sound as I mentioned is already configured so playing Oggs with
XMMS was a breeze (as easy as on Windoze). I took some photos
with one of our digis and put the SD card into a USB reader and
it was recognized right away (using a 2.6 kernel which was
selected at install). It was a simple matter of selecting the
photos off the drive in a GUI file manager and pulling up Gimp
to edit them slightly. Easy as pie. Yesterday I burned
a CD. Again, no configuration required and no command line
tinkering for parameters. All was accomplished through the
GUI burning tool. I also watched the video on
Pastor Meyer's blog through Firefox. It actually pulls
up a tool to watch mpeg's and quicktime vids and it worked. So what was all
that talk about Linux being for geeks? Ok, it's not a Mac to be sure but
we are getting close and of course you can't beat the price.
